The Sony HDC-3100L 2/3″ CMOS Broadcast Camera Kitprovides pristine imaging at rates up to 1080p60 with 4K capture available an optional CCU. A global shutter creates crisp image quality without the “Jello” effect found with rolling shutters. Features include an integrated ND filter wheel with servo control, a color correction filter, rich focus functions, and backwards compatibility with Sony HDC-2000 series components. This modular camera is housed in a lightweight yet strong magnesium alloy body and includes the 7″ HDVF-L750 EVF and a 60p resolution license.

Optical Fiber Transmission
The integrated SMPTE-standard fiber connector enables the HDC-3100 to be used with the separately available CCU unit for optical fiber transmission.
4K CMOS Sensor with Global Shutter
The HDC-3100’S 2/3″ 4K CMOS image senso’s global shutter eliminates any “Jello” effects and banding noise found with rolling shutters, producing crisp images with low noise and high sensitivity.
Format Flexibility up to 60p
  • Provides native 3G-SDI output in resolutions up to 1080p50.

Simultaneous HDR and SDR Production
The HDC-3100 captures HDR imaging, supporting Sony’s SR Live workflow with simultaneous HDR/SR production with reduced inventory needs.
Remote-Controlled ND and CC Filters
The built-in ND filter wheel and color correction filter can be controlled via a remote-control panel (RCP), master setup unit (MSU), or directly from the camera head.
Rich Focus Functions
  • A Viewfinder Detail function provides image-enhancing edge signals to your viewfinder.
  • It enables quick and precise focusing and includes a focus insist indicator and focus position meter.
Lightweight Durable Construction

IP Production Compatibility
Use with the optional HDCE-TX30 IP extension adapter to output ST 2110 signals directly without requiring a separate CCU.

The HDCU-3100 IP-Enabled Camera Control Unit from Sony adds IP capabilities to the broadcast and studio system cameras. Connecting to compatible cameras via optical fiber cable, the compact HDCU-3100 supplies power to the camera, performs signal processing, and provides an interface with external equipment. The compact 1.5 RU unit is ideal for space-limited production areas. It is equipped with eight built-in SDI outputs, including four 3G-SDI outputs.

IP Functionality for Live Production
The optional HKCU-SFP30 interface kit adds essential functionality required for IP live production such as Tally, Intercom, and Return.
4K Output Option
By installing an optional 4K/HDR Processor Board HKCU-UHD30, the HDCU-3100 can output 4K signals when connected to an HDC-series system camera. In addition, the HDCU-3100 with an optional 12G-SDI interface kit HKCU-SDI30 can transfer 4K signals through a single BNC cable.
High-Quality, Long-Distance Signal Transmission
The optical fiber transmission system maintains high picture quality across cable runs of up to 1.2 miles. Combined with the HKCU-SM30 interface kit, the compact HDCU-3100 can be directly connected on Single Mode Fiber (SMF) for long-distance transmission up to 6.2 miles, making it ideal for space-limited operations like OB trucks.
