Take a hands-on approach to Nuendo or any other DAW
Nuage is more than a controller system that works well with Nuendo, it was designed around this industry-leading DAW. How this affects you as a Nuendo or Cubase user has a lot to do with your workflow. By not having to look around for track details or fish in menus, you’ll save yourself a ton of time and energy preforming everyday tasks. Chances are also likely that you’ll need to jump between DAWs from time to time, and Nuage makes that easy. In fact, you can comfortably control up to three DAWs at once. And since there’s a user-definable control section in the Nuage Master, you can ensure that the commands you use the most are always on hand.
A system that fits your needs, big or small
Studios range broadly in size and shape, so why go for a one-size-fits-all control surface solution, when you can custom configure your own Yamaha Nuage system? Nuage starts with the Nuage Master module, which houses your transport, communications, integrated touchscreen, and a ton of other centralized functions. Next, you add Nuage Fader banks, each of which includes 16 motorized faders, touch-sensitive knobs, and other in-line controls. You can add 24″ VGA displays to each Nuage Fader bank to get a set of dedicated meters, and there are 12″ and 24″ Nuage Workspace units you can use to add seamless desktop space to your console. And don’t forget I/O. With the selection of Nuage I/O audio interfaces out there, you can get up to 128 channels of high-speed, high-res audio via Dante.
Nuage Master puts editing options in easy reach
From its integrated color touchscreen to its precision-machined jog wheel, the Nuage Master puts all of the important commands you need to access right at your fingertips. Framed by handy soft keys and touch-sensitive encoders, the touchscreen provides responsive control over EQs, dynamics, routing, automation, and more. Likewise, the transport section includes a precision-machined jog wheel that’ s an absolute pleasure to edit with, and a user-assignable control section lets you assign complex functions to a single button.
Mix and automate with a truly intelligent controls
A set of 16 smooth, 100mm motorized faders is only the most obvious thing that the Nuage Fader module has to offer. Illuminated bars on each channel color-code your tracks, so you can tell at a glance what part of your Nuendo session you’re looking at, and common operations make mixing and editing easy. A pair of multifunction knobs allow access to a channel-strip’s worth of control. One of the coolest touches engineers here at Sweetwater love about the Nuage Fader has to offer is its Touch Slider zone, which lets you use gestures to shift which tracks you’re working on. Finally, if you want a detailed set of channel meters and displays, you can simply connect a 24″ display to the Nuage Fader and set it on the back of the unit for the ultimate meter bridge.
